The LCISC is a not-for-profit organization with a primary purpose to promote safety, not only in the workplace, but in society generally.

First established over 30 years ago, the LCISC remains an independent group, not affiliated with any other agency, council, company or organization. Composed largely of safety professionals, LCISC is financially operated entirely from corporate and individual membership fees and dues.

The LCISC operates through a Board of Directors and Officers, who are voted to their positions via the majority vote of the membership. These individuals who hold office volunteer their time in many ways – from attending board and monthly meetings, to preparing the annual meeting schedule, arranging for speakers, mailing membership applications, and making arrangements for special events, such as company tours.

Membership in the LCISC is special. It means that you truly care about the safety and well-being of others. It demonstrates a safety commitment to the people that work with you and to our society at large. Your membership is voluntary, reflecting a personal desire to better the world around you, regardless of all the other issues that you may encounter. By joining the LCISC, you are taking a pro-active stand for making every effort to insure that the people working where you do go home every night “whole” in both mind and body.
